"Als ik wist dat je zou komen had ik de loper uitgezet..." Sudoku Solution 202027 uses the second 'Soundscape' cassette (inspired by my reading of Murray Schafer's 'The Tuning of the World') that I recorded on Sunday July 29th, 1984, in the Derde Oosterparkstraat in Amsterdam. Now it's evening night/time. The one hour recording (made with a lapel microphone hanging out of one of the street side windows) ran from Sunday 23h33 to Monday July 30th, 00h33. We hear music and the chatter of the regulars of the small pub ('volkskroeg') next door. There was always only a same handfull of locals —born and bred in Oost, popular Amsterdam neighborhood— that were drinking there, no one else ever seemed to set foot inside. They spent most of the summer evening's not in- but outside of the bar. It probably was too hot in the small and damp indoor space... "Hei Neus, waar bemoei je je eigelijk mee?!" .... "
